DESCRIPTION:Suggestion Box: Share Stories of Gaps and Rough Spots\nDate: Friday\, January 13\, 2023\nTime: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM\nLocation https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/\ntZwvf-ioqDIpHdxP07dUfCyU_LtHU5rTfgBU \nThe QDCC Self-Direction/Self-Determination Committee would like to invite you to our next meeting on Friday\, January 13\, 2023 at 10am.  Please read the description of the session and register in order to receive the zoom link.\n\n“Suggestion Box:  Share stories of gaps and rough spots”\nAt this session we will be collecting stories of our encounters with problems in the Self-Direction system.  After the meeting we will send these along to OPWDD leadership to help guide their future improvements.\n\n1- Gaps\, Needs that you could not get filled.  Obstacles that you were not able to overcome.\n2- Rough spots.  Things that were difficult to get done\, where the system put up obstacles that\n    you were able to overcome.\n3- Your story of how changes to the housing subsidy process have affected you/your loved one\n    negatively.\n\nThese stories should be as specific as possible.  Ideally include the contact info of the person who encountered the gap of or difficulty\, or someone who is willing to speak on their behalf.  We understand that is not always possible.\n\n* Example of a less useful story:  I heard from one of the other parents that their FI refused\n   reimbursement.\n* Example of more useful story:  My name is Jim Karpe\, jim.karpe@gmail.com\, and my FI\, ISS-\n   NY refused to reimburse the final session of a monthly JCC community class in early 2022\,\n   because they did not have a description of the class.  They had reimbursed multiple sessions\n   prior to that.  By that time they gave me the refusal\, the class was no longer offered\, and the\n   description had been pulled down.\n\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwvf-ioqDIpHdxP07dUfCyU_LtHU5rTfgBU \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nHope to see you next week.\n\nBest\,\nMarieta
